EITO Privacy Policy

§ 1 General
Bitkom Research uses the user data collected and processed in the course of an Internet session at www.eito.com (“EITO Portal”) only for legally admissible purposes. In particular, Bitkom Research will adhere to the provisions of the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz (BDSG, Federal Data Protection Act) and of the Telemediengesetz (TMG, Tele Media Act).
Personal Data provided by the Client by registering a Client Account such as the Client’s address, e-mail address and order data at the EITO Portal will be stored, processed and used by Bitkom Research in order to process the Client’s orders (including if applicable the delivery of the ordered Products by shipping agents).
 
§ 2 Consent to further data processing
If the Client has separately declared his consent, Bitkom Research is entitled to store and process the Client’s address, e-mail address, telephone and mobile number, date of birth and order data for its own marketing purposes and is entitled to provide them to affiliated companies for the same purposes. The Client’s data will not be passed on to any other third parties.
If the Client has given his further consent, Bitkom Research will keep the Client informed about new assortments, promotions and ongoing offers by e-mail via the periodically published Bitkom Research Newsletter.
The Client may revoke any declaration of consent at any time according to Section 3 of this Privacy Policy.

§ 3 General Information on data processing and revocation of consent
At any time vis-à-vis the data protection officer referred to below, the Client is entitled to request information about the scope and purpose of the data that has been processed and stored and the details of the parties who have received the data and to object to the use or transfer of his personal data for advertising purposes and to request that such data be rectified, erased or blocked. Furthermore, the Client may request at any time the deactivation of his Client Account and the deletion of data stored in this connection.
The Client may revoke declarations of consent which have explicitly made when placing an order or, respectively, when registering at the EITO Portal at any time vis-à-vis the data protection officer referred to below.
In addition, the Client has the opportunity at all times to inspect the consents he has granted to Bitkom Research at “My Account” on the EITO Portal and has the opportunity to revoke all consents granted there.
The Client may unsubscribe from the Bitkom Research Newsletter by activating the link “Unsubscribe” at the end of any Bitkom Research Newsletter or vis-à-vis the data protection officer referred to below.

§ 4 Encryption
The EITO Portal uses “Secure Socket Layer” technology (SSL) to encrypt Client’s data.

§ 5 Cookies
Like many other Internet sites, the EITO Portal uses cookies to facilitate smooth and easy access and, if necessary, to allow for the recognition of Clients returning to the EITO Portal. Cookies are small units of information that are saved on the hard disk of a visitor to an Internet site. The EITO Portal uses both session cookies, which are only saved on a visitor’s hard disk during the current session, as well as persistent cookies, which facilitate recognition of returning Clients who have registered at “My Account”. Cookies only require a minimal amount of hard disk space and do not compromise the customer’s computer. 
Cookies should not be activated on computers that are used by multiple persons and that are protected from data misuse by a user administration system (personal login and secret password). Subsequent users could misuse cookies stored on such computers.
