Like many other Internet sites, the EITO Portal uses cookies to facilitate smooth and easy access and, if necessary, to allow for the recognition of Clients returning to the EITO Portal. Cookies are small units of information that are saved on the hard disk of a visitor to an Internet site. The EITO Portal uses both session cookies, which are only saved on a visitor’s hard disk during the current session, as well as persistent cookies, which facilitate recognition of returning Clients who have registered at “My Account”. Cookies only require a minimal amount of hard disk space and do not compromise the customer’s computer.

Cookies should not be activated on computers that are used by multiple persons and that are protected from data misuse by a user administration system (personal login and secret password). Subsequent users could misuse cookies stored on such computers.

All visitor data is saved using an anonymous user ID to aggregate a usage profile. Cookies may be used to collect and save this data, but the data is not personally identifiable.
